SECULAR METAPHYSICAL PERVERSION: IF NON-BELIEF IS NOW ENSHRINED AS A CREED ACCORDING TO THE HUMAN RIGHTS CODE, THEN WHAT DOES THAT SAY ABOUT WHAT WE HOLD TO BE TRUE AND DEAR AS A SOCIETY? THAT WE ENSHRINE AND DEFEND THE RIGHT OF BELIEF IN NON-BELIEF? IS THIS NOT THE ANTITHETICAL METAPHYSICAL PERVERSION OF ALL CREATION? THAT THE CREATOR’S CREATURES SHOULD HAVE INSTITUTIONALIZED AND ENSHRINED WITHIN THE LAWS OF MAN THE VERY DENIAL OF THE EXISTENCE OF THE LINK BETWEEN THE CREATOR AND HIS CREATURES THROUGH THE VERY ACT OF CREATION ITSELF? INDEED FOUR HORSEMEN SIT HIGH UP IN THE SADDLE AWAITING THE COMING OF LA TORMENTA
School is over for the semester. Time to kick back and reflect a bit. Time to actually read those free newspapers that get delivered to my mailbox each week and which often end up in my recycling bin for wont of a better place to put them or thing to do with them. I find newspapers, unfortunately, along with most mainstream corporate and state-owned media, has gotten to be increasingly irrelevant and shrill in its exhortations to consume more stuff at all costs while at the same time dishing us up a steady stream of doom and gloom and sundry apocalyptic and eschatological scenarios of an ecological and/or demographic variety.
Not that this piece doesn’t have such a component to it, but I’m going to try and be rational as opposed to shrill and not try and sell you something to alleviate your stinky feet or bowels that won’t move while I’m at it. I’ll leave that to the denizens of the corporate media. These free newspapers that come to my mailbox each week are mostly advertising. Once I’ve removed the various colour supplements, all for stuff I don’t need and don’t want or use, I’m left with a much thinner product, which I told myself that in all good conscience I should read so as to keep up with what’s going on locally in my community.
Well, in between more advertising for MORE CRAP I don’t need, want or use, I found mostly fluff about how Santa was coming to town, and how many drunk drivers got arrested on the roads, and sundry things related to historical navigational stuff about the Welland Canal. Then something caught my eye. It was an article written by a person responding to an op-ed piece concerning religion in our schools. Finally, I said, something of value and substance to read about!
Well, I was shocked to find out that a certain gentleman called René Chouinard of Grimsby ON was launching a challenge of the DSBN’s links between Habitat for Humanity, a Christian faith based organization which builds affordable housing for low-income people, and Eden High School, an alternative school with extra-curricular Christian activity programs. Apparently, the writer of this letter asserted that non-belief in a monotheistic deity is now officially recognized as a creed by the Human Rights Code and that this Mr. Chouinard felt that his rights as a non-believer were being infringed upon by virtue of the fact that his children, I assume, and hence himself, were being exposed to Christian doctrine within the context of the extra-curricular activities of an alternative school which is part of a secular, public school board, which the writer pointed out correctly, is inherently presenting all of its curriculum ostensibly from a ‘…creedal position as it ignores the role of a deity in its presentation of science, history, the arts, languages and every other subject. To be truly objective in our pluralistic society all subjects should (be) presented to our students from a variety of perspectives that acknowledge that God may or may not exist.’
Mr. Chouinard said that Eden school ‘…is pro-Christian… and anything that promotes one belief is saying that you are wrong when you are a non-believer.’ But the writer went on to say that ‘The same argument could hold true for the other DSBN schools that take a position that denies God’s existence in their presentation of the curriculum. A person of faith attending a public school accepts the exclusion of God and any faith other than a creed of non-belief and we should be ready to do the same for an alternative Christian school.’
I couldn’t agree more with the writer. It just goes to show you how perverted the social climate has become when by default, a public school board takes as its inherently implicit if not explicitly stated pedagogical policy to be exclusionary of Christian principles in its curriculum and in our secular society nobody bats an eyelash nor mounts the barricades to defend the teachings of Christ and His Church. However, if one little alternative school makes an alliance with a faith-based group such as Habitat for Humanity, which provides very positive, hands-on experience to young people in helping others in need, regardless of doctrinal considerations, then we have a fundamentalist secularist rabidly mounting a challenge of the presence of the Christian deity in the public domain!
Blows my mind. They say that God works through people. I’m convinced that the Devil does as well. Only something demonic could be so perverted as to institutionalize within the strictures of positive law, that is to say the laws of man, as opposed to natural law, which is ordained from a Higher Power, that non-belief become ordained as an officially state-sanctioned creed, meaning that the secular state, which itself has officially cut off its ties with God and natural law by virtue of the ‘evolutionary progress’ of roughly 250 years of historical ferment from the days of the Enlightenment in France and its subsequent disestablishment of Absolute Monarchy and the official links between God and the state, the notion that the state officially endorses and sanctions as a creed the non-belief in a monotheistic deity.
This has tremendously perverse implications for the ultimate outcome of civilization as we know it today. For if man, as ordained by the Creator as his ultimate and highest form of creature within the sphere of his almighty creation, deigns to formally and officially, even irrevocably, disestablish his de jure juridico-legal relationship between the Creator and himself the Creature, by virtue of the formal juridico-legal disavowal of the Creator’s prime motive activating force behind the act and sustenance of Creation itself, and ultimately, the Creatures engendered by such a loving, prime motive action, then surely there is little or no hope left for Creation itself, much less the poor wretched creatures left to dwell in this mortal coil as we know it today.
We will have committed the ultimate sin, to deny the necessary link between Creator and the creatures he created, hence voiding the act and process of creation itself and ascribing it to some random act of chemical explosion originating in a cipher and randomly going nowhere. What folly. Four horsemen surely sit high up in the saddle awaiting the coming of la tormenta, as the little boy cried out to Linda Hamilton as he filled up her Jeep in the dusty little Mexican town and pointed to the coming storm clouds over the horizon.
In the closing scene of the first Terminator movie, Linda Hamilton lovingly caresses her pregnant belly as she sits in the Jeep, ready to pull out and go straight into the eye of the storm, armed only with a full tank of gas and the putative Messiah of planet earth dwelling in her womb to protect her against the scourge of the coming Armageddon foisted upon the unwary and unwitting inhabitants of planet earth by Skynet, with their ungodly Terminators wreaking death and destruction upon humanity as the machines quickly overrun the planet and conclude (perhaps rightly so, given what I’ve just discussed), that humans have grown to be unworthy of occupying the same space as machines and thus should be terminated, thereby fulfilling the prophecy that man will have been consumed by his own folly of placing the desanctified imperatives of science and technology ahead of the supremacy of the Godhead in all his affairs.
Anyhoo, surprising what can come out of my mind on a Friday afternoon when I decide not to throw out those crappy free newspapers into the recycling bin and I end up reading about another twit somewhere and his dimwitted plans to terminate humanity.
